An adventure on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Cumberland Knob, Low Gap, NC

Every once in awhile Bianca and I take a day trip and go on an adventure. This particular spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway which we’ve been to before. The last time however, we had Zoe with us and all of us were spry. Over the years, having been to this location many times, it has become somewhat of a favorite for me. The drive up there is gorgeous, its close enough for a day trip, there are facilities (aka a comfort station) and its a really strenuous hike. Actually, it has gotten a lot more strenuous since the last time we were did the entire trail. If you ever have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it: Cumberland Knob.

The below are our pictures from the day. It rained as we were driving up there, and continued to have storms as we were along the trail. For the most part we stayed dry because the trees kept the rain away. Otherwise, there are a few water crossings. I wore my Merrills and really put them to the test! A few times I had to pick Bianca up to cross her over the rushing water. Overall, we had a wonderful day! Hope you enjoy.
