ACTIONS to FEEL EMPOWERED

Feeling off track?

As humans, we can easily start to get off track without realizing it, and wake up one day feeling lost. Or worse, feeling helpless and depressed. In these moments we need to remind ourselves that we have the power to change our lives. We have the power to course correct. The best part? We have the power to feel better right this second, even if nothing else changes.

Sometimes we worry about the future, or overthink a past mistake. This can lead to a spiral effect. The truth is all we have is this moment right now. So, if we take action in this moment right now, we will begin to feel better and get back on track.

Actions to feel Empowered.

Cultivating a feeling of empowerment each day can significantly enhance your overall well-being. It will boost your confidence, and improve your ability to tackle challenges. Here are some strategies to help you develop and maintain a sense of empowerment:

Daily:

  1. Set Clear Goals: At the start of each day, set specific and achievable goals. Even small accomplishments can boost your confidence and sense of control.
  2. Practice Positive Affirmations: Use positive affirmations to reinforce your sense of self-worth and capability. For example, “I am capable of handling whatever comes my way” or “I am in control of my own life.”
  3. Reflect on Past Successes: Remind yourself of past achievements and moments where you overcame challenges. Reflecting on these can affirm your abilities and give you confidence in current situations.
  4. Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness practices such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga to stay grounded and present, which can increase your sense of control and clarity.
  5. Express Gratitude: Each day, note down things you’re grateful for, which can shift your focus from what you lack to what you have, boosting your mood and motivation.
  6. Visualize Success: Spend a few minutes each day visualizing yourself succeeding and thriving in your endeavors. Visualization can strengthen your motivation and belief in your abilities.

Strategic:

  1. Focus on What You Can Control: Direct your energy toward aspects of life you can influence, and try to let go of worries about things beyond your control.
  2. Develop a Growth Mindset: Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles. Believing that you can learn and grow through difficulties can enhance your resilience and empowerment.
  3. Surround Yourself with Positivity: Spend time with supportive and positive people who uplift and encourage you. Distance yourself from those who drain your energy or discourage your ambitions.
  4. Set Boundaries: Learn to say no to things that do not serve you or align with your values. Respecting your own needs fosters self-respect and empowerment.

Long Term:

  1. Learn Something New: Cultivating new skills or knowledge can expand your sense of capability and confidence in your abilities.
  2. Take Care of Your Body: Exercise regularly, eat healthily, and get enough rest to ensure you have the physical energy and mental clarity needed to feel empowered.
  3. Acknowledge Your Emotions: Recognize and accept your emotions without judgment. Understanding and accepting how you feel can strengthen your sense of self-awareness and control.
  4. Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge and celebrate even minor achievements. This reinforces positive behavior and enhances your confidence.
